Medequip and her partners in the U.S and South Africa are well equipped to supply all manners of medical equipment from radiology equipment , laboratory equipment, dialysis equipment and devices  for intensive care  and telemetry monitoring etc.

Given the peculiar situation in Nigeria with poor power supply and poor maintenance culture, Medequip will usually advise that medical equipment be supplied as a total solutions package that includes uninterrupted power supply protection and a maintenance package to assure that the investment made is sustainable for the long term.

 

Medequip has significant experience in design and management of diagnostic  centers. Medequip has successfully established Mediscan Diagnostic Center in PortHarcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria and is currently in the process of helping design, equip and manage what will be the biggest diagnostic center in the country in Ilorin, Kwara state in partnership with the State Government.

 

Medequip is in discussion with partners in the U.S that have extensive experience in the design and management of Peritoneal and Hemo-dialysis. This is an area of acute shortage in the Country. Nigeria with its vast population, and high prevalence of Hypertension and Diabetes and resultant kidney failure, has very few centers with the capacity to provide renal  replacement therapy. Medequip wishes to partner with federal, state governments and private sector to establish dialysis centers throughout the country at very affordable subsidized rates to the population.
Medequip is also in negotiations with several transplant centers abroad to triage patients who desire kidney transplant to centers where they can obtain them, with an eventual goal of having a transplant center in Nigeria.

 

Nigeria  has a vast rural population with little or no access to any form of decent medical care. Most doctors choose to practice in the big cities. Nigeria also unfortunately has a high prevalence of Tuberculosis and other deadly respiratory illnesses.  Medequip aspires to bring basic healthcare facilities to the rural population, where they  can make a big difference. One  such area is in the provision of fully mobile x-ray units that need very minimal training to operate and can be powered by simple small capacity generators

 

In most of the western world, there are centralized blood bank centers that co-ordinate the collection, storage and dissemination of blood products. They strive to make sure that blood is thoroughly screened and ensure adequate blood product supply to the target area. Medequip desires to set-up similar centers throughout Nigeria to alleviate the lack of adequate and well screened blood products especially for emergent situations.

 

Medequip partners have extensive experience in the efficient management of hospitals . They  are currently engaged as consulting physicians with a focus  in hospital medicine in the United States, but also have a decent knowledge of the alternative healthcare systems in Britain and Nigeria and are striving to export the relevant experience and knowledge to hospital design and efficient care delivery to Nigeria.

 

Medequip collaborates with partners in India and USA  who can provide teleradiology and telemedicine solutions to interested parties at a nominal fee via Broadband.  Medequip has the technical expertise  to provide interpretation of radiology images from  Dicom enabled modalities , and have results of such interpretations returned in a word document via encrypted mail.  We are also able to provide digital storage of digitally taken images via PACS .

 

Medequip and her partners are strong proponents of continuing medical education  via seminars and CME courses to keep pace with the ever changing  practice of medicine, and also to keep acquainted with evolving new medical technologies. Medequip has the capacity to organize all kinds of medical seminar and CME courses for interested parties.
